What to bring to get approved: the complete checklist

The fastest approvals happen when you walk in with everything. Here's the checklist.

The must-haves

• Valid ID — driver's license, state ID or current passport
• Proof of income — a recent pay stub, a benefits letter, or proof of other regular income
• Proof of residence — a recent utility bill, lease or rent receipt with your name and address
• Personal references — names and phone numbers of people who know you (we'll tell you how many your deal needs)
• Your down payment — ask us which forms of payment we accept

If you're trading in

• The vehicle's title (or your lender's name and account number if you still owe on it)
• Registration and all keys and remotes

If you're self-employed or paid in cash

Bring bank statements for the last few months, recent tax returns, or 1099s. The goal is simply to show steady income — we'll help you figure out what works.
